Yes: Internal hormones play critical roles in pain management. Steroids are very important, either intrinsic or extrinsic. Testosterone is very much involved in natural opioid activity in our body system named endorphins. Sometimes we have to prescribe hormones if their levels are low and the patient is experiencing chronic poor responding pain. We may give as adjunct treatment.
