Prodrome: Chickenpox actually becomes contagious and erupts 10-21 days after your exposure (ave 14) and many will experience a low grade fever during the prodrome or blood phase that occurs in the days before you break out. After the rash has appeared and subsided (ave 6-7 days) any new fever should be monitored as evidence of a new, possibly related problem.A cellulitis or other issue may emerg.
