Maybe: Reddish discoloration of the eyes is common in upper respiratory infections, and may not always be associated with a viral conjunctivitis (commonly called "pink eye"). The mucous membrane lining the sinuses is connected to the conjunctiva via a small canal (the nasolacrimal duct). Thus any inflammation in the sinuses can carry over into the eye as well, and it can be very asymmetric.
