A member asked:

Does high heart rate during excercise cause rabdomyolosis?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

No: Rhabdomyolosys is a muscle injury direct or indirect. It result in breakdown of muscle fibers and release of their contents into the bloodstream. In an untrained athlete, excessive exercise can cause extreme muscle strain or a heat stroke causing tachycardia as a cause of the process. Rhabdo will occur because of the muscle breakdown not the tachycardia. Hydration and training very important.
