Peanut butter: If you crave peanut butter, you may indulge yourself. It will not cause a peanut allergy.

Loaded Question: The issue of eating pb during pregnancy and/ or while breast feeding is very controversial. The data as to whether this will result in more or less peanut allergy in the child is unclear. Having said that there are no general recommendations about not eat or eat pb during pregnancy / breast feeding.

Safe to eat: Avoidance of allergenic foods during pregnancy and lactation has not proven effective in preventing persistent allergic disease in children. I encouraged Moms who are breastfeeding not change their diets to avoid essential foods (like cow's milk, peanut or egg) during pregnancy. In addition to inadequate evidence that avoidance prevents allergies, it may compromise maternal and/or fetal nutrition
