Exam,tests: History, physical, review of previous work-up, likely new tests. You may get a chest xray and PPD skin test as well as additional blood work. Try to take a copy of all previous tests for the rheumatologist to see. Sometimes the etiology is never identified. Your rheum doc may change your meds also.

Iritis: The rheumatologist should perform a thorough physical exam looking at your skin, joints, muscle strength, and check your heart, lungs, and abdomen, looking for signs of an autoimmune disease. There may also be testing of blood and urine. There are cases of iritis that have no found cause.
