A member asked:

My doc tells me to use glycerin suppositories when constipated. i use at least one every week. could this cause internal inflammation or damage?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Unlikely : But you may want to try scheduled daily emptying and adding more fluids to your daily routine. Glycerine is rather innocuous, but its regular use is a drag when you could gain better control of the issue with some dietary changes, avoid apples, bananas or other constipating foods.Increase intake of peaches, pears, plums and other loseners. The big thing is increasing fluids and emptying daily.
