Exercise: As a general rule, exercise is recommended however if you were not exercising prior to the diagnosis of coronary disease, it would be best to be evaluated by your cardiologist and possibly have a treadmill test done to assess the significance of the blockage and your limits.

Exercise will help.: Plaque in the arteries is a living tissue, not a cement block in the parking lot. It is in a constant state of "remodeling", sometimes progressing, sometimes regressing. A recent study out of england showed exercise may be as effective as medications for cad. In any event, get a stress test first to make sure you are safe to exercise, then try to tip the scales in favor of "plaque regression".
