Brisk 20-30 min walk: Is a good place to start.Because of your young age, 26, u are at low risk for a heart attack.Things that would increase your risk are high ( uncontrolled ) blood pressure, smoking, diabetes, high cholesterol, and positive family history of early heart disease.Of course, it's better to get a complete physical to rule out any of these risks before starting a vigorous new exercise regemin.Best of luck.

I always : Recommend a complete history and physical to any person who want to start an exercise program specially if any risk of heart disease is present. You may benefit of a bariatric clinic approach were a nutritionist, psychologist, physician, exercise trainer and physical therapist will work with you. 6 smaller meals a day keeping a good glycemic index control will increase your metabolism. Good luck.
