Unclear: Pet scans of the brain can miss tumors, so a negative one doesn't necessarily mean you are in the clear. A study limited to the brain would not rule out other problems elsewhere.

Brain PET...: Brain pet can be performed with various pet tracers. The most common pet tracer is FDG (glucose). There is normally high glucose uptake in the brain which could make it difficult to see hypermetabolic lesions such as brain tumor or infection. Did you have an MRI of the brain? Brain pet is helpful in differentiating radiation necrosis from viable tumor. It also helps in assessing tumor grade.
