I had a pet scan. what is conspicuous central cerebral white matter hyper metabolic activity with suv max 9.9. there is a suggestion of indeterminate ill defined enhancement in this region only seen on the thin slices of a recent mri. this a tumor?

Without seeing the scan cannot say. But the working suggests something that should not be there. Discuss with your Dr and ask to get a cooy of the scan for you files.
