A member asked:

Which is more of a concern, a person who is sane and appears so strong and plans a suicide or someone who is psychotic or bi polar etc?

I find both to be: Concerning. I can't even say which requires more immediate attention because a person who is imminently suicidal and one who is full blown manic - are both in real trouble. I am not sure that one can make a strong statement without knowing more.

Treatment Works: All of the above should have psychiatric treatment. Obviously when there is a concern of a plan for suicide, there should be an immediate intervention by friends and family who care as well by a mental health professional. The important thing to remember is that treatment does work and everyone is entitled to treatment that will help them.
