Omeprazole for GERD: Omeprazole is used for gastro esophageal reflux as it cuts down the acid production.It is not a medicine for chest inflammation.Your doctor is treating you for acid regurgitation which can sometime cause cough and congestion.If you are not doing better, i will make another appt to see the doctor.

I've been having tightness and pain at times in my throat, neck, and chest, and sometimes pain/stuff. Visited ER twice, nothing wrong with heart, been prescribed omeprazole, and i'm done taking the bottle. Symptoms are there sometimes. What to do?
