Patchy: White patches on tongue? Red patches? Duration/location/size? What causes irritation? Duration of red throat? Is throat sore? Trouble swallowing? May or may not be related. See your PCP about your sore throat. See your Dentist about your tongue. Between the two of them you should get the answers that you need.
