I'm on ortho-cyclen 28 and my periods start on thursday of the inactive pills but last into monday or tuesday of the active pills, is this normal?

Yes: Normally it seems like the period should start as soon as we start the inactive pills, but it doesn't work that way. It takes a few days, typically, for the withdrawal bleed, as it called, to start the period. And then normal as well to bleed a few days into the active pills. No worries!
