Stye: Is an inflammation of of the eye lid mainly due to infection by bacteria . It is also know by the name hordeolum. It may contain pus in which case need incision and drainage but for the most part it respond to hot compress and local antibiotic.

No: Not actually. More of a local infection that often responds to conservative measures, soaks, etc. If worsens, see your provider or ophthalmologist.
