After sitting for a period of time i stand up and my right leg is very weak. it takes a couple of steps and then it gets better. what could be wrong?

Incomplete informati: Is there pain also associated in right leg when you stand up? Since you have " degenerative disc disease" it seems that you do have pain in leg. If so your weakness in right leg is likely to be due compression of sciatic nerve in sitting position which is temporary. Compression is relieved by standing and you feel better.
