Dermatomycosis: Onychomycosis means fungal infection of the nail. There are a variety of superficial fungi that can cause this. There are both otc medications and prescription medications which are effective, depending upon the fungus and the severity of involvement. If the otc preps don't work see a doctor. Get better. Do not ignore this.

See a podiatrist: It is caused by fungus and molds- dermatophytes that can infect the nail. If you have a fungal nail infection, prescribed topical and/or oral medications can be used to address it. Some doctors offer laser treatment for nail fungus, but its indication is more for improving the appearance of the nail, rather than curing the infection. Surgical options are available for more severe infections.

Fungus: Fungus in the nails can be very difficult to eradicate. Otc topicals work poorly. Prescription orals carry risks. Prescription topicals don't work all that well either. I do use a laser in my practice that - so far - is quite effective. Fungus spreads and waiting guarantees a more difficult road . See your podiatrist.

Toenail fungus: A fungus causes toenail fungus, there are three different types that are prevalent. Lamisil (terbinafine) is an appropriate treatment. However, it can damage the liver. A prescription is needed as well as culture of toenail. A podiatrist and family doctor can treat fungal toenail known as onychomycosis.

Toenail fungus: Toenail fungus is simply caused by a fungus which has entered the nail and start growing and spreading. Treatment can range from topical medication to removal of the nail or possible oral medications and laser treatment. The treatment depends on the severity. It is very difficult to treat an aggressive treatment may be necessary to completely eradicate.
