A member asked:

Never can get deep sleep cos my body wakes up again and again even with cpap, go to bed at 11-12 wake up at 11-1. have 2 take am meds at that time too?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

More than apnea: Return to your sleep doctor and make sure your CPAP is set correctly. Have your entire sleep study reviewed by the sleep physician. Something has been missed. There are more than 80 sleep disorders. If you are still having trouble you can request a copy of the initial printout of your basic sleep study results and have them reviewed by another sleep physician. I have seen a number of occasions where the physician focused on the respiratory aspects of sleep so much that other conditionswere simply missed. If all else fails then see a psychiatrist to be treated for your insomnia. It would be better yet if you could find a psychiatrist who is also boarded in sleep medicine. Most sleep medicine doctors are pulmonologists then do very well with the sleep apnea portion of sleep disorders but not always as well at some of the other more subtle aspectsof sleep.Best wishes to you.
