sharp pain behind and around ear lobe resulted in bells palsy. little red in ear canal. pain lasting for long periods especially laying down. 5 days?

Could be shingles: Varicella zoster, or shingles, can affect the ear canal and also affect the 7th cranial nerve causing bell's palsy. Have a dr look carefully into your ear canal to see if there are any rashes evident of shingles there. Good luck.
