Aspartame: It is safe and fda gave them "gras" status meaning generally recognized as safe". No clear cut link to cancer except the saccharin studies of 70, s raising concern for bladder cancer in rats but nothing has panned out since then and generally there consumption is safe like "equal" and "nutrasweet".
