Cough, SOB,fever: A cold is a mild self limited viral infection characterized by sore throat, nasal congestion and discharge and sometimes laryngitis and dry cough. When pneumonia develops it's most common symptoms are cough, sputum production, shortness of breath, fever, chills, and chest pain on inspiration, weakness and prostration.
