A member asked:

My period came 4 days late this month. will it delay ovulation too or should i expect ovulation around the same time as last month? we are ttc help!

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Delayed: If a period begins 4 days later than expected, that means this month's new cycle is starting 4 days later. That also means ovulation will likely be 4 days later than the usual expected time. However, if one wants to maximize the chances of sperm meeting egg, one can start having daily sex three days before previous usual expected ovulation day, and just keep having sex for a few extra days longer.
