When i'm on my period, the blood that comes out is a dark red to a dark brown color and smells very bad. is this normal?

Likely no problem.: Along the course of your period every month, usually there are changes in the color, consistency, amount and odor of fluid passed. If the odor continues to be strong or is associated with burning or itching sensation, you might have a vaginal infection. Call your doctor in a couple of days if it has not resolved. Breathe deeply and know you are O.K.:).
