Normal: He is just starting to walk and trying to get his balance. This can be normal. Be sure that he has good flexion of his foot and no evidence of any tendon problems.

Tip toes: You child is not quite ready to walk so at yhis point it is too early to give an opinion as to his status.

No: Tip-toeing and toe-walking is considered normal in young toddlers which seldom continues after 18 months. If this pattern of walking persists beyond 2 years of age, neurologic evaluation would be warranted.
