Levels of t3 (liothyronine) and t4: Double check to be sure which tests you are describing, as both free T3 (liothyronine) and free T4 are elevated in hyperthyroidism, and also both free T3 (liothyronine) and freet4 are decreased in hypothyroidism. In cases where T4 is not converted to the biologically active t3 (liothyronine), (liothyronine) one may have hypothyroidism with a high T4 and a low t3 (liothyronine).
