Maybe nothing at all: Most of the time a deviated septum is only visible on an internal nasal exam. This appears as a narrowing of the nasal cavity on one side of the nose. An anterior septal deviation is visible from beneath the nose and usually presents as asymmetric nostrils and a crooked base of the nose.
