Diuretic side-effect: High urinary zinc levels are most commonly a side-effect or complication of taking some diuretics. Diuretics are given for some cardiac conditions, fluid retention, hypertension and high urinary calcium excretion. Occurs < with potassium containing diuretics. Can cause reduced or lack of ability to taste or smell, can be associated with impotence plus slow or poor healing.
