Byproducts in urine: Coproporphyrin is one of several blood break down products that may manifest itself in a urinalysis. Strenuous activity, menses and illness (as well as many other causes) may lead to the degradation of the oxygen carrying compunds in the blood stream known as hemoglobin. The vast majority of cases of coproporphyrin in the urine are benign but it is best to discuss these results w/ your doctor.
