Acne: Acne is caused by thick skin oil that blocks the pores and causes blackheads and pimples and inflammation. There are 4 kinds of medicines that help acne: retinoids, like retin a (tretinoin) or retinol. Benzoyl peroxide, and both topical antibiotics, like cleocin, and oral antibiotics, like minocycline. If your acne is bad, you may have to see a dermatologist to get care. The strongest medicine is accutane.
