How long does it take for the ringing in the ears to stop after vertigo?

May be permanent: I am assuming that the 2 symptoms started at the same time and vertigo has resolved but ringing has been persistent. Tinnitis is a very difficult complaint to treat and often becomes permanent. So far there is no successful treatment for ringing in the ears.
