Hernia pain: Hernia pain is generally limited to the site of the hernia and should resolve when the hernia is pushed back in (reduced). If a hernia is not reducible and has persistent pain, it should be evaluated immediately as there would be a risk of incarceration or strangulation. When experiencing pain at a hernia site, it is smart to cease the activity right away.
