How long can a person live with liver failure?

What's the cause?: And how bad is the failure? If it's the result of acetaminopen poisoning or acute hepatitis b or an 'herbal remedy' that was actually poison (this is fairly common), the person can recover completely if treated. In early cirrhosis, if the cause can be found, the scarring can partly reverse.

Weeks to months to: Years. It depends on too many factors to think about in this setting.
