Dr. Neil Lall answered

MRI or CT +Contrast: Mri or ct of the liver are very useful in determining whether a liver lesion is a cancer or a hemangioma. Both would require IV contrast. The radiologist can tell the difference based on the way that the liver lesion takes up the contrast.
