A member asked:

How do you know if iud is misplaced?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Ultrasound: Iuds (intrauterine devices), which are among the most effective long acting birth control methods available, are placed by your doctor in the office. Positioning of the iud can be confirmed by ultrasound. Your doctor will also instruct you to feel the strings every so often to confirm that the iud is still in your uterus.
