A member asked:

Are legionella bacteria and giardia connected?

2 doctors weighed in across 2 answers

Completely different: Legionella can live within waterborne amoeba-like organisms, although not aware that it will live within giardia. Giardia lamblia is a flagellated amoeba-like organism that lives in fresh water as well. Both of these can produce human disease, but the diseases are very different and unrelated.
