A member asked:

My granny got malaria and typhoid how long befor she better?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Where is granny?: Malaria, appropriately treated, if the plasmodium is sensitive to the meds will respond very quickly. Typhoid fever, however, may have persistent symptoms long beyond what you might expect from institution of appropriate therapy. Would not be surprised to have typhoid persist for 10-14 days after starting therapy.
