EAR INFECTION:: Ear infection is mainly of 2 types: #1. Otitis media or middle ear infection, common in children. #2. Otitis externa or external ear canal infection /swimmer's ear, seen in children and adults. Doxycycline is not the drug of choice to treat either of these two. Your doctor needs to see what you have and treat accordingly.
