Is there a good sore throat remedy or helpful tips and tricks to get rid of it?

Old treatment below: Here's an old one we were told in the 70's - combine liquid Benadryl (diphenhydramine) with liquid maalox, mix 1 teaspoon of each together, gargle for 1 minute, then spit out. Keep them refrigerated, it seems to work better that way.
