Instability at the: C1-2 Joint. The first 2 cervical vertebrae. Various things can lead to this, including rheumatoid arthritis (RA) which leads to pannus formation or fibrovascular tissue which has a predilition for the C1-2 joint, and can erode the joint capsules leading to instability, especially in patients who do not take medications for RA. Also trauma and fractures, etc. ccan lead to instability of this joint.

Yes: Central nervous system lupus can cause many problems including seizures, psychosis  and stroke. Any of these are serious and need to be treated by a Rheumatologist. Also many drugs used to treat.Lupus, particularly corticosteroids and even NSAIDS. Discuss this with your Rheumatologist.

Prolotherapy: I have had much success treating sacroiliac (si) & other joint instabilities with prolotherapy - aka 'stimulated ligament reconstruction': injecting si ligaments with a mild irritant (could even be a form of sugar & water). The body 'thinks' it has a new injury and rushes to 'repair' the ligament - laying down new fibers, shortening & strengthening the ligaments. Osteopaths & mds can both do this.

Laxity in the wrist: There are 8 small bones that make up the "wrist" in addition to the large long bones, the radius and ulna.  these bones are arranged in 2 rows of 4 each.  CIND (carpal instability nondisso.) means there is anywhere from lig. laxity to dislocation between the 2 rows of bones.  TX depends on how much laxity present, response to splint, h/o trauma &amp; how bothersome sx are to you.  See a hand surgeon.

slight multidirectional instability in my shoulder, is it at risk for further injury?  ortho said ok to lift, but i don't want to make worse. what do?

Strengthen: Multidirectional instability ( mdi) is best treated initially by strengthening the rotator cuff muscles, scapular stabilizers and core. Not sure if u had a subluxation of your shoulder or how 'loose' or unstable your shoulder(s) are but try strengthening w/ a certified o.T. First.Your shoulder is @ risk for &gt; injury w/ forced hyperabd./ ex.Rot. Injuries. Good luck!
