zoning out blank stares like nothing else is there. weird?

Zoning out: Zoning out and blank stares can be a lot of different things.  We all sometimes get tired or fatigued and everyone's attention can wax and wane to some degree.  However, this can also occur due to metabolic changes, medicatoin effects, anxiety, absence or petit-mal seizures, blood pressure changes, etc.  More questions and examination by a doctor should start the path to an answer as to what it is.

i keep "zoning out" if that's even the right term for it. i have no idea why and it's like i get numb all over and i can't move, i can't talk, and i just stare into the distance, i also can't hear anything else and my brain goes into a severe fog?

: This is not normal and will require a visit to your primary care physician .
Even consider not driving , till evaluated .

: If you are zoning out and daydreaming, you're probably bored. You need to find something to do, not just anything, but an activity or topic that you are interested in, and that you would have to gain knowledge and skills to master. Find a 2nd activity requiring physical exertion if the 1st one doesn't. This is the best phase of your life. Spend it doing something you love and are passionate about.

Hello. : Hello. I can't diagnose what the cause is for your symptoms. I am having a difficult time getting a full grasp on what you are describing. We can zone out to different levels. Day dreaming is one way of zoning out.  Another example is zoning out when you are driving and without realizing it, you have driven quite a distance. In psychiatry we call some forms of zoning out  dissassociation.  When things become too stressful or painful, part of the mind can protect us by causing us to shut it off. On the other hand a person can have derealization in which things around you just seem unreal or depersonalization in which you don't seem right. If you are bothered by your symptoms, suggest you see a doctoral level clinical psychologist or a psychiatrist.

Yes: If you are zoning out and not focusing on something you eyes might drift inward or outward, which will give you double vision.

ADHD-Primarily : Inattentive Type is a clinical diagnosis made by a Developmental/Behavioral Pediatrician or Child Psychiatrist using history, current functioning at home &amp; school, &amp; neuropsychological exam results for a Neurodevelopmental evaluation. A bright child can pass a Continuous Performance Test. The history also warrants a pediatric neurology consult to rule out minor motor, or Petit  Mal, seizures.

what are the main key differences between zoning out and having a focal seizure?

Seizure: A focal seizure effects only one are of the brain and typically is not associated with "zoning out".  The symptoms of a focal seizure may be the following:  muscle contraction, odd sensations, abnormal head or eye movements, automatism or repetitive movements such as lip smacking or vision changes. An absence seizure is more likely associated with staring off into space or "zoning out".

so i had a concussion a month ago last 5 days i have been zoning out a lot thats what my eyes feel like could this be a subderal hematomo this late?

Unlikely: unikely to have a delayed subdural of any significance but it can happen - how long after your trauma were you scanned? Or were you scanned at all?
