Zoloft tapering: If your anxiety and depression or crying spells were controlled on Zoloft 100 mg/day, and now you're having non-stop crying after 3 days on 50 mg/day, the tapering is too fast or not a good idea at this time. Tell prescribing doc about these recurring symptoms. Either wait for a better time to taper dose or go much more slowly, eg. lower by 25 mg or 12.5 mg.  I hope this helps.

Sleep hormones: Melotonin is the hormone that in animals is involved in the initiation of sleep and in regulating  the sleep/ wake cycle. Some people have found that taking melatonin before bed is useful as a sleep aid. Speak to your doctor  about whether melatonin may work for you and others ways to improve sleep including sleep hygiene and non medication interventions. Good luck and good night.

Depends: Depends on the dose you were on, and your particular sensitivity to changes in ssri levels. If you're on 50mg or less, chances are you'd tolerate an abrupt discontinuation without side effects. Any higher dose than that, i'd recommend tapering. Personally, since there's virtually no downside to tapering, i taper everyone to 25 mg before discontinuing. Talk to your doc about tapering.

Tapering: The key is to taper and not stop &quot;cold turkey&quot; ... You probably received different advice on this, as it&#x27;s not a hard and fast science as some of the other aspects of medical practice.  Generally, the goal is to reduce the dose 25% each week x 4 weeks ... But this can be slowed down or accelerated if need be depending on how you respond.  Hope that helps &amp; good luck!

Probably: The best response is to meet with your prescribing physician and discuss this in detail.  In my practice, with my patients, I slowly taper them down on the zoloft (sertraline) about 50mgs weekly, and slowly   start them on Brintellix, usually mgs daily for one week, then 10mgs for two weeks, then up to 20mgs daily.

No, it's not normal: It sounds like since you were doing these things before - clubs, hobbies etc-when you were on the Zoloft, that the medication had positively affected your depression and you were improved, and now that it is being tapered you are again showing signs/symptoms of depression. Talk to the prescriber - it sounds like you need to be back on it or another medication if the Zoloft was causing side effects

Normal is not OK: It does sound like a common complaint but that's still not ok. Definitely talk to your Dr about finding a solution and in the future always consider the 'end game' when starting a Rx. They can be necessary, but sometimes therapy alone can succeed. Maybe some anxiety: Reducing the Klonopin may result is an increase in anxiety for a short period while the zoloft (sertraline) elevates in your system.  This depends on how quickly the Klonopin is decreased.  Check with doctor about advisability of zoloft (sertraline) during first trimester when you become pregnant.  Also, other than medication, there are techniques that can reduce anxiety.

Unexplained headache: One major symptom may be a headache that can last for several weeks upon stopping zoloft (sertraline) suddenly.  You are less likely to have symptoms when you gradually decrease zoloft (sertraline) over a few weeks as opposed to just stopping it cold turkey.
