hi, i was taking zinc gluconate 30mg by cutting them in half and now zinc in not working, i'm low in zinc, how can i fix this? and can it be fix naturally?

: Avoid taking this medication with foods that are high in calcium or phosphorus, which can make it harder for your body to absorb zinc gluconate. Foods high in calcium or phosphorus include milk, cheese, yogurt, ice cream, dried beans or peas, lentils, nuts, peanut butter, beer, cola soft drinks, and hot cocoa. Foods naturally rich in zinc are red meat, nuts, and dairy.

hi, i was taking 30 mg zinc gluconate for two week by cutting them in half, in last 3or4 days i was taking 50 mg of it till i got headache than i stop taking it. after three weeks i started taking it, and zinc not working. i'm low in zinc.please help?

: How do you know you are low in Zinc? If you are eating a usual mixed diet, it is highly unlikely that you have zinc deficiency and do not need to take the supplement.

Yes,but neither best: Zinc can be difficult to absorb. Zinc oxide is poorly absorbed and is probably best for topical use (as a sunscreen). Zinc gluconate is better absorbed and is commonly used in lozenges for treating colds. However, research shows that zinc picolinate is much better absorbed than zinc gluconate. For what  indication: I am not sure what are you taking zinc for but you have to bear in mind that zinc can potentially bind copper in the stomach and decrease copper absorption which results in anemia.

: Why are you taking these? Did a doctor prescribe these? If yes, talk to the doctor who prescribed the medications. It is unlikely that you need to take either.

Stop taking zinc: I'm not sure why you're taking a zinc supplement, maybe to prevent colds, and if so, it won't help until you get a cold.  Regardless of why you are taking it, if it's causing your hair to become thin, then i suggest decreasing or better yet stopping the zinc supplement.  In time (a few months probably), your hair should grow back.

HAIR THINNING: Heredity contributes to it. Some sickness like  sle , skin disorders, stress, etc should be ruled out. The best thing to do is consult a dermatologist. Could be side effects of what you are taking now ?

Actually: I prefer Zinc Sulphate!!  HOWEVER any of the above are most likely just fine since the amount needed to replenish your total body zinc is quite low!! (Higher levels are used in medical conditions eg cold virus  control and Prostate function!
