A member asked:

Hi, i was taking zinc gluconate 30mg by cutting them in half and now zinc in not working, i'm low in zinc, how can i fix this? and can it be fix naturally?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Avoid taking this medication with foods that are high in calcium or phosphorus, which can make it harder for your body to absorb zinc gluconate. Foods high in calcium or phosphorus include milk, cheese, yogurt, ice cream, dried beans or peas, lentils, nuts, peanut butter, beer, cola soft drinks, and hot cocoa. Foods naturally rich in zinc are red meat, nuts, and dairy.
