Doesn't matter.: Just avoid taking it with foods that are high in calcium or phosphorus -- dairy products, beans, peas, nuts, beer, cola, etc. -- which can make it harder for your body to absorb it.

is zinc gluconate an effective supplement for zinc deficiency?  if not, what zinc supplement is best absorbed? zinc oratate? acetate, picolinate?

Actually: I prefer Zinc Sulphate!!  HOWEVER any of the above are most likely just fine since the amount needed to replenish your total body zinc is quite low!! (Higher levels are used in medical conditions eg cold virus  control and Prostate function!

having zinc acetate & doxycycline-lb tabs, 1.5 hours after meal, for acne. have severe nausea & discomfort after having tabs, for 10-15 mins. advice?

Yes: Get yourself onto a better acne regimen. Stop taking the zinc; it's generally bad for you, probably won't touch your acne, and it's probably making you sick. That leaves you on just tetracycline, and you must not take just an antibiotic for acne. Add topical benzoyl peroxide. If the tetracycline makes you sick, or this doesn't help, consider isotretinoin if severe and/or a different regimen.

Check with doctor: You need to ask the doctor caring for the baby. Dosages of meds are based on the size of babies and there is always a risk of drug interactions. Your doctor should always be told everything the patient is taking including over the counter meds.

Severe diarrhea : How long is he suffering from diarrhea?  If this  is an on going problem , he needs work up to make a proper diagnosis,  but if it is only for few days then you can modify his diet,  eliminate all dairy products for 2-3 days,  give him plain bread, rice, pasta, boiled or baked potatoes,  apples, bananas, soup, crackers farina, keep him well hydrated, introduce regular diet gradually . Good luck

Safe with pregnancy: Probably ok if in small doses but always check with your OB doc.

Response: Sick babies should always be evaluated in person.  I would recommend taking baby back to the doctor if he seems worse.
