Safe to take: These two medications inhibit the release of  acid in your stomach.  The acid does have an important role in digestion.  The ppi meds (dexilant) have an adverse effect on calcium absorbtion in the body and therefore can contribute to the development of osteoporosis.
You need to work with your doctor to find out why you are having and what you can do to decrease the gastritis.

Anti-acid medication: The first question is why are you taking 2 medications.  The medications you mentioned  block acid production in the stomach.  Patients who have reflux may need these medications long-term to prevent erosions and ulcers of the esophagus and stomach. No worries yet: Just check with your prescribing doctor. In September 2019, the FDA announced that some medications containing ranitidine contain small amounts of a chemical. The FDA is investigating to see if small amounts of that chemical is enough to be a health risk, since that chemical in larger amounts can cause cancer. The FDA says patients should not stop using ranitidine but just talk with their doctors.
