Fungal infection: Toenail fungus is an infection of the bed and plate underlying the surface of the nail. You should treat toenail fungus as soon as it appears.  Yellow toenails are a side effect of the presence of toenail fungus. The more discolored the nail, the further along the infection.There are many antifungal agents in the market to use from.

Diabetes & Wt Gain: Type 2 diabetes is a condition of Insulin resistance meaning your body makes Insulin but it does not work as well.  As a result the body needs higher amount of Insulin to control your blood sugar.  Unfortunately, Insulin also stimulates fat formation, epecially the unhealthy fat around your waist.  The result is weight gain.  High blood sugar also promotes the growth of fungus causing yellow nails.

: It has been shown that nail conditions can be caused by bacteria and not always fungus. Urea has been used over the years. There are many treatments for nail conditions. Once you rid yourself of this problem you could therefore be susceptible to the problem returning.
