Sure, but...: It would mean the patient caught HIV quite a while ago because it takes time for HIV to damage his immune system to the point of his developing opportunisitic infections such as oral thrush. Opportunistic infections are infections that happen to weakened patients but typically not to people with a healthy immune system. Whatever happened one day before oral thrush appears should not be the cause.

"Coated tongue": Any mucosal surface ( oral, genital, rectal) can acquire a yeast infection (fungal). This is treated by oral medications , usually "over the counter".  See your healthcare provider for an exam to be certain.

had std testing (blood draw) done for hiv which was "non reactive".  i have eye floaters and lately white rings/ coated tongue. what is going on?

Vitreous detachment: Floaters are usually secondary to vitreous detachment from the retina.  This is a normal aging process and it can start as early as teens in a highly nearsighted person to into the 60's.  But when you first notice it u need to see an eye md to make sure there are no retinal tears.  Your mouth lesions may be candida and from a lot of stress and not necessarily HIV related.  See your primary md.

Unclear diagnosis: At your age, and if healthy, there is no reason for you to have thrush in the mouth unless your immune system is not working well or you use meds that can cause that, or you use steroids like for asthma. Have it evaluated first to make sure of the diagnosis, and if so why?

i was flagyl for diverticulitis now 2 days after finishing it i have a bad taste in my mouth that reminds me of strep. i also have a white/yellow coated tongue. my throat is also a little scratchy. could this be thrush?

See your doctor: If you are concerned about possible having HIV go see your doctor and he can do blood testing.  A white coating on your tongue maybe mucous and normal.
