Probably not: You may be thinking of some other drugs which dilate the pupils. Xanax (alprazolam) is a sedative and as such can give a signal to small automatic muscles to relax. But xanax (alprazolam) also happens to have a small adrenaline signal which works to constrict small muscles. In an overdose there would be more sedation than activation, possible dilated pupils and they may appear drunk. This is an life threatening emergency.

ever since i started taking xanax, (alprazolam) i have been seeing floaters in my eyes!  is this a possible side effect?  need some help!

Floaters: probably not.. Floaters are fairly common. Usually cells sloughing off within the eye itself. Occasionally if there is an small tear or retinal detachment, there may be a little more floaters. If that is the case, seek help from your physician.

since taking xanax, the flashes of light i was seeing in my right eye have disappeared and no more headaches.why? its only day 2 of xanax but still..

Xanax: Xanax may be used in migraine only if anxiety or stress related. Not usually prescribed for as a first medicine. If so then symptoms can stop in short order.

I would avoid: It is best to avoid mixing alcohol with any drugs, especially xanax (alprazolam).  The vision problem in your right eye should be checked by your eye doctor.

only twice when i took half a pill of xanax (alprazolam) (0.25) i had redness from the beginnig of the eye till the lens (without pain). is it safe for my eyes?

Prob not needed: xanax (alprazolam) is like alcohol, makes you care a little less about anxiety. It doesnt fix your problems. Ask yourself where is anxiety coming from?Anxiety is energy that needs to go somewhere. In your age group, if you can focus energy on getting good education, so you can get good job, then  you will have less anxiety in the future. eye redness is likely temporary and harmless, but get it checked if worse

mild case of dry eye. coincided with xanax (alprazolam) and zoloft started  about 6 weeks ago and i discontinued now. how long before the condition goes away?

Okay.....: Assuming the dry eye was a result of the medications, which is likely not a good assumption, the zoloft would clear within 5 days and the xanax (alprazolam) within 3 days. Hopefully you discussed stopping the medications with your doctor before hand?

does xanax increase eye pressure? i was given xanax in er for an episode of extremely high blood pressure as dr thought anxiety was adding to high readings. i asked if it was ok as i am on drops to control pressure. i took half a tablet. any damage?

: Xanax is contraindicated in patients who have acute narrow angle glaucoma (this is usually an emergency condition of the eye). Xanax does not have a mechanism to cause an increase in eye pressure.

Suggest: To be safe, get MRI of brain with contrast.  Although your symptoms are not fully classical, I might wonder about the symptom of "Palinopsia", which might be caused by brain problem.  Get this pinned down and treated.

had double vision after a nap (lasted a few min, covered eye & it went away). have ocular migraines &am glaucoma suspect. take xanax (alprazolam) for panic disorder?
