Talk to your doctor: Why not speak to your prescribing physician in order to have a tapering schedule taking into account your past medical history, rationale for being on these medications, and overall health status?  Without these details, it is difficult at best to be able to provide a way to address this issue.  Strongly suggest you speak to your local doctor regarding this.

3 : 3 CNS depressants that provoke dependency, tolerance, and can cause death for respiratory depression when combined unwisely or at a certain dose.Your question is referred to heaviness in arms and allergic reactions, signs of which i don t see in your description, possibly missing the real point. Ask your dr and report your symptoms, you might need some meds adjustment or change; maybe detox.

will xanax (alprazolam) help with morphine withdraw symptoms? i've read that benzos can help. i have script for xanax (alprazolam). could i take 1/day?

It can: The withdrawal should not last long.  Withdrawal symptoms may vary and most opioids can be weaned down slowly over time with little to no withdrawal.  The concern with using xanax (alprazolam) is that you may end up off of the morphine but then not able to come off of the xanax (alprazolam).  Discuss with your doc.

i take 2mgs of xanax (alprazolam) 3x daily (started at .5mg 4x 35 years ago). is 10mgs oxycodone 2x and 15mgs morphine er 2x for back diseases safe with the xanax (alprazolam)?

Need med review: That seems like too many controlled substances at once and could result in addiction. Be sure that you review all of your medications with your physician prior to instituting  any change in your medication regime.

Very cautiously : Xanax (alprazolam) can be used with narcotics with close physician management. The sedating properties of the medications are increased when used together and respiratory depression is increased. Use without doctor management can lead to death.

See a Different Doc: If you don't want pain meds, see a fellowship trained pain/spine specialist that avoids opiates if possible.  There are many options for your pain issues, so they may be able to help.  The prescription you've been written is a recipe for disaster!

so i'm prescribed tramadol, gabapentin & alprazolam & i take otc sleep aid. my dr told me my last urine was positive 4 morphine/ codeine & i dont know how!it also tested positive for the gabapetin but i haven't taken that in4mos. how did this happen?

Poppy seed muffins: are a frequent cause for false-positive morphine urine drug screens.   Poppy seeds can also be found in salad dressings, and on bagels.   A GC/ MS test of your urine can quantify and definitively identify the substances in your urine.   A low amount of morphine on the GC/ MS would most likely be from ingestion of poppy seeds.   Talk to your physician about these possibilities.

i take 500 mg of dilantin 160 mg of geodon (ziprasidone) 50 mg hydroxyzine  4mg of klonopin 30mg of cyclobenzaprine 60mg of morphine sulfate and 12..7.5/325 hydrocodone daily can i take xanax with these meds need help mentally please?

Not recommended: You are already on a number of sedating medications including Klonopin (3mg?) which is a very similar drug to  xanax (alprazolam)

Morphine: Morphine is usually not in a combined medication. There is one significant exception and that is combination Morphine/Naltrexone. The latter blocks some of the effects of morphine, theoretically preventing addiction.
